Research Seminar Max Planck Institute-Chile

The Max-Planck-Institute has extended an invitation to participate in a research seminar called “Dialogues between Chilean and Max Planck Researchers,” scheduled for June 27th through June 29th, 2012 at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, Germany.

The main objective of this seminar is to encourage participation by Chilean researchers, in this way building personal and scientific relationships amongst each other as well as with Max Planck-Institute researchers, or with others with complementary profiles and an interest in starting new collaborative projects.

The knowledge areas this seminar includes are: Plant Biotechnology, Neuroscience and Cognition 1 and 2; Polymers, Macromolecules and Advanced Materials; Theoretical Physics and Chemistry, Astronomy and Astrophysics; Ecology and Environmental Sciences; and, Computer Modeling and Simulation. In this last topic, Pedro Ortega of MPI Intelligent Systems will be giving a presentation, representing Orand Corporation’s Center for Research and Technology Transfer of Chile.

The seminar is open to all researchers who can satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

  • Current collaboration with Max Planck researchers.
  • Past collaboration with Max Planck researchers.
  • Related research area.
  • No collaboration with Max Planck researchers but some contact. (In this case, participants will discuss new collaborative research plans).

The Max Planck-Chile Research Seminar is sponsored by: the Department of International Relations (DRI) of CONICYT; the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the Chilean Embassy in Germany, all of which are in favor of promoting and encouraging inclusion of the Chilean scientific community with peers abroad.  It also counts on the collaboration of major national institutions, including:
